Id like to share how over the last 3/4 years how my perspective on the world has changed now im more focused on marketing advertising and designing.
Particulary now how i have a tendency to analyze any advertisment i see
Ill give you a few examples…
Movies
3 Years Ago – Movie credits – Watch movie – Movie ends.
Today – Movie credits – What font is that? Is it scalable? – Watch Movie – Movie Ends

Free Time

Today – Read RSS feeds, watch news, discuss design on blogs

Buses
3 Years Ago – Oooo that looks like a nice phone/ipod/laptop
Today – Thats not a good picture! – Why have they used that font? – They should have placed that there – Doesnt look neat – Oooo yeah the phone/ipod/laptop

Websites

Having said all this i wouldnt change it for the world. I love how many new people ive met, things ive learnt and my time management has become alot better. I feel privileged to work with some of the people in the past and to produce a piece of work which you have created entirely on your own is very rewarding. Despite me now having what seems like OCD when it comes to marketing I love my work and will hopefully continue for a very long time.
Does anyone else have whats known as the “design eye”?

I know what you mean, I come to the stage where I’m obsessively analysing product logos and designs and breaking them down mentally to the point where I’m creating the same image in something like Photoshop, but in my head.
Also, I think I’m becoming a Design Snob because I look at some designs and think “Oh, if you had just taken a bit more time …” or “You really spend money for something like that!”
Love designing but sometimes it does take over.
